Description

An excerpt:

Attunement may be defined as a sacred healing art and spiritual practice. Attunement has always been thought of as a healing technique and used as such by lay and professional healers. But Attunement has always had a core and more central function as spiritual attunement: a way of assisting oneself and others to harmonize with Source, a sacrament of intercession and a shared meditation between giver and receiver.

As a healing technique Attunement is superb. Typical healing applications have included illness relief for everything from headaches, burns, colds and flu, menstrual cramps, to cancer, AIDS, trauma and post–surgery. The deeper spiritual component of Attunement relates to people giving and receiving Attunements for spiritual alignment, meditation, centering and emotional healing. This aspect of Attunement as Spiritual Radiation has always been the core philosophy and purpose of Attunement.

The technique as a healing method has always been secondary to its function as spiritual inspiration and education. In this way it falls into the traditional category of spiritual practice as a form of prayer and meditation. Such activities as prayer, chant, meditation, ritual and exercise/movement have traditionally been used as a form of communion with higher source. Attunement is a form of communion with higher spiritual understanding in one’s internal landscape and by that definition is a spiritual practice. Attunement may therefore be called a sacred healing art because at the core of its application it is designed to assist the receiver to experience communion with indwelling Source. This may simply be known as a deep sense of peace and relaxation or centering. At other times a vivid sense of awareness and surety of one’s purpose for living is known. A supernatural experience of communing with angels, entities, guides or aliens is not implied or expected, and Source has generally been defined as the higher spiritual self, spirit or God.

The basic practice of attunement is non-touch healing with the hands. Attunement has a far wider scope, though, in that it is a function of consciousness, awareness, stillness, and being in larger Being. In this way it is not restricted to a series of techniques and is uniquely adaptive to our needs for spiritual healing as human beings.
